It will be cashless for the stamp and registration department following the instructions of electronic payment for document handling charges.
The facility will be introduced for Pune district and then replicated in the state from May 1, said state IGR Anil Kawade. State revenue minister Chandrakant Patil announced the facility on Saturday. While the department had been accepting registration and stamp duty charges through e-payment, offices under IGR were accepting payment for document handling charges only in cash.
All IGR offices will go cashless with e- payment facelity launched under Digital India Program. “Citizens will have to make the e-payment on the basis of Rs 20 per page before coming to the office,’’ added Kawade. The services are available on the website igrmaharashtra.gov.in.
Authorised Service Providers (ASPs), who help register property documents at door step for leave and license agreements, will also be tracked. Currently, the state has 400 ASPs. This will bring in more transparency, the IGR added. For their services, they charge Rs 1,000 for home visits and Rs 700 for visiting outlet.
